Local Shropshire Area

Seifton is a tiny hamlet full of history. The surrounding area is a walker’s paradise with easy access to Wenlock Edge, and further afield the wild beauty of the Long Mynd. There are also bridle paths accessible from the property and for the horse owner stabling and grazing are available on site.

Pool Cottage is only a ten minute drive from Ludlow Racecourse, which hosts superb national hunt racing patronised by many top jockeys and trainers. For the golfing enthusiast Ludlow Golf Club is adjacent to the racecourse.

The historic market town of Ludlow, with its castle, is a 15 minute drive away and we are also conveniently situated for the many places of interest throughout Shropshire. Described by Sir John Betjeman as “Probably the loveliest town in England”

Craven Arms is also nearby, with many attractions including Stokesay Castle and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. The Welsh Marches railway line is the link to the north and south of the county.

Church Stretton lies between the Long Mynd, Cardingmill Valley and Caer Caradoc, making the town a paradise for walkers.

The county town of Shrewsbury is under an hours drive from Seifton. An historic market town whose town centre remains largely unaltered with it’s Medieval street plan and over 660 listed buildings. The Castle & Abbey are of special interest to visitors, along with the Shrewsbury Flower Show, one of the largest and longest running horticultural events in England.

Also under an hour away is Bridgnorth; a town of two towns! The high town and low town connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain. Charles I declared the view over the Severn as “The finest in my Kingdom”

What our visitors say

“We’ve just returned from our 3 night stay over Easter at Pool Cottage and it was the best B and B stay that we’ve ever had. Pool Cottage is in a beautiful and peaceful location at the end of a lane and yet within easy reach of Ludlow and some spectacular scenery and choices for interesting walks.”
